		Invitation to the Conference: International Students in Poland 2011

		IFMSA-Poland has a new President In the vote on January the 24th a new President was elected to the Łódź branch - Ms. Karolina Mroczkowska. The Łódź branch is one of the most active in Poland, for wich they were awarded by the IFMSA General Board for the most dynamically developing branch.

		IFMSA-Poland recommends a program for undergraduate students called Amgen Scholars run by Amgen Foundation which seeks to advance science education; improve patient access to quality care; and strengthen the communities where Amgen staff members live and work.

		The MUL Won Employee Volunteering Award The awards recognise companies that are developing employee volunteering programmes to help people facing barriers to work improve their employability skills and respond to the social needs of groups considered by the European Commission particularly important and in need of support.

		The Young Professional Programme (YPP) The call for applications for the Young Professionals Programme is now open to candidates from Member States who are non- and under-represented at the Secretariat of UNESCO as of November 2010.

		EuroEcho 2010 The fourteenth Annual Meeting the European Association of Echocardiography 8-10 December 2010 in Copenhagen focused on the latest advances in cardiac imaging. During the meeting new board members and new committee members were elected from the MUL - prof. Jarosław D. Kasprzak and assoc. prof. Piotr Lipiec

		Experimental Hematologists from MUL A team of hematologists from the Medical University of Lodz presented promising results of their research at the 52. Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology in Orlando, Florida, USA. The results give hope to those suffering from lymphoma and leukemia.

		Biotechnology Park The Medical University of Lodz is planning a new Biotechnology Park within the Łódź Special Economic Zone. The Park will include businesses from the field of biotechnology, medicine and health care. The aim of the new investment is to commercialize the results of scientific research.

		MUL in International Rankings The Medical University of Lodz was ranked in the survey by the Scimago Institutions Rankings (Madrid), who has recently published the Global Report 2010.

		IT Center Announcement The Medical University IT Center has completed the process of modernization of the local network of internet services, telephone system, the fire alarm and CCTV.

		MUL Student Presenting in Stockholm We are pleased to inform that a clinical study by Dominika Filipiak, a 6^th year student of the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Lodz was presented during the annual European Society of Cardiology congress held in Stockholm between 28th August 2010 and 1st September 2010.
