Doctors from the MUL Clinic of Interventional Cardiology and Cardiodiabetology prof. Andrzej Lubiński and dr Bartłomiej Bińkowski successfully carried out a procedure of balloon cryoablation for the first time in our region.

This procedure is a practical, safe and effective technique for achieving the electrophysiologic goal of acute pulmonary vein isolation in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. The patient is ready to leave hospital within two days of the proceure.

The first procedures of this kind carried out by cardiologists from Lodz were supervised by prof. Jarosław Kaźmierczak from the Pomeranian Medical University who introduced the method in Poland.
