The Medical University of Lodz opens admission for PhD studies (both full-time and part-time curriculum) to International Students
PhD programs in Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in English are available for university graduates with MD and MSc qualifications, who are not Polish citizens and are interested in pursuing research in various fields of Biomedicine.
The duration of the full-time PhD studies is 4 years (with the possibility of shortening to approx. 2 years for selected candidates based on individual achievements).
Students will have accesses to excellent PIs and tutors as well as fully equipped laboratories and clinical facilities.
Admission documents:
- a curriculum vitae (CV),
- in the case of the graduate of a Polish higher education institution: an original Diploma of completion of second cycle (complementary or uniform) studies or equivalent (e.g. MD or MSc diploma), or an official statement of completion of second cycle studies and the expected date of Master’s thesis defence,
- in the case of the graduate of an international academic institution: an original Diploma of completion of higher education studies outside Poland or another document confirming the applicant’s successful completion of degree studies. The studies must be officially recognised as meeting the graduation standards of Polish second cycle (complementary or uniform) academic institutions (e.g. MD or MSc diploma). A certificate of equivalence to a Polish Diploma of completion is also recommended for submission in the case of recognition by nostrification,
- a grade point average (GPA) certificate,
- details about the applicant’s previous research and study experience including list of publications,
- upon the commencement of their PhD studies, holders of degrees in Medicine or Dentistry must be in possession of a postgraduate internship completion certificate, whereas graduates of faculties of Pharmacy must hold an undergraduate internship completion certificate,
- where the applicants intend to pursue non-clinical disciplines: evidence of English language competence,
- if applicants wish to pursue clinical disciplines: evidence of Polish language competence,
- a medical certificate issued in Poland by a registered occupational medical practitioner,
- 4 photographs.
- All documents written in languages other than Polish or English must be translated into Polish by a certified translator prior to submission.
